THE STORY OF ABOBÁ

Our story started in 2020. It began with founders, Natalie and Sasha who started sharing skin, hair, body and mind recipes with friends and family because they believed that the body and mind always needs natural and holistic support. They decided to share homemade cosmetics which had helped them with their body, skin and mind challenges.

WHO ARE THE ABOBÁ TEAM?

Natalie had been dealing with skin, body and mind traumas which affected her. “I realised that I could not have the luxury or eating what I wanted or putting any products on my skin so I decided to learn about mind, body and skin and make some changes. As a child I’ve always had issues with eczema. As I got older, I started to see that removing dairy products like milk and eggs from my diet. But the real game changer for me was removing meat from my diet and 8 years later, I’ve not looked back. I struggled with being prescribed steroid creams from doctors and finding my right PH balance for my dry, sometimes oil, hyper-pigmented skin. After going round in circles, I started researching I started creating recipes using more natural oils and butters and various natural wash ingredients and I’ve never looked back since.

Sasha started taking notice of her skin due to health conditions and in 2010. “I started to research and understand what my body needed and only wanted to invest in the most natural ingredients. Seeking products with mostly natural ingredients on the market became a challenge and so I started sourcing skin products and researching the benefits of many natural ingredients. Both my children have grown up with eczema and it seemed the only thing on offer were products with chemical compounds which would irritate or burn the skin. Creating better eating habits and studying about the body and skin allowed me to explore new ways in making homemade creams and facial products made from the simplest of ingredients”. Through creating our own recipes and sharing ideas, Abobá was created.

Sasha and Natalie have known each other for 24 years and the alignment of creating Abobá was definitely written by the Universe.
